Duplicate Poker calls it quits

Talk about a big surprise, I never saw this one coming at all. A U.S. friendly poker room calls it quits !

Duplicate Poker had plugged itself as the only legal online poker room in the United States, now just has a message to its players on its homepage announcing that it has closed. They claim it was due to the global credit problems, and I'm thinking that wall-street played a part as well. It's hard times for a lot folk these days and businesses as well .

What had made Duplicate so unique was that instead of playing against players at the table, Duplicate Poker set it up so players were actually playing against a corresponding player at another table. It was a whole new way of seeing who the best player was under the same circumstances. Whoever played the hand better was the winner, rather than whoever won the hand at the player's own table.

If you had an account at Duplicate Poker,  I don't think there's need for any worry. They are doing the right thing and getting all account balances back to the players. The homepage at www.duplicatepoker.com has a form where folk can request a withdrawal.

You can still play U.S. friendly poker at any of the sites promoted here at the "House of Poker Blues" like PDC Poker for great bonus offers or Carbon Poker for your rakeback needs !

It's a good thing because this was a disgrace to poker. They somehow made it boring with their unusual "ideas"
