President Elect Obama and the Democratic Party

As everyone knows now, Barrack Obama will be the next President of the U.S.A. This is an historic moment to say the least for America, and I'm glad to be alive to see the day when people of all races can lay aside racist attitudes and vote on the issues and principles at hand . Regardless of who a person voted for, now is the time to try and come together as a nation.

The Democrats also gained a few more seats in Congress to increase their majority of the House and Senate. Perhaps this will lead to things being done without all the fighting, bickering and veto's that have been such a large part of politics.

Some may wonder if this will really help the online U.S. poker player......I personally think it will . With online gamblers friend Barney Frank , a Democrat, getting reelected , we have him on our side to try and repeal the UIGEA law . He has been very outspoken against the law and I'm sure he will continue to be , and now he has an even bigger crowd of fellow Democrats in office that will listen.

Do I think it will help soon ? No, there are so many more issues that are in front of this , the economy, two wars , the job market, and health care to mention a few . But I'm pretty certain that the UIGEA will be changed within the next couple years. President Elect Obama strikes me as a man that will listen to his colleagues and take things into consideration, unlike McCain who is like a stone and set in his ways . And it doesn't hurt that Mr. Obama likes a good poker game himself.

In the meantime we have U.S. friendly poker room Carbon Poker and other great sites promoted here at House of Poker Blues that are easy to fund and play poker at till things get changed .
