Rakeback Rookie
Some eighteen months back I walked into an old friend of mine who had just profited over 10K playing online poker. He got my attention in a split second. Wow I thought, this could be something I´d enjoy trying to accomplish. Having played a bunch of fantasy sports and stock markets games not to forget an ex videogame addict. I got in to online poker fresh as a fish, literally. I knew the game and the rules but never really had actual strategies having only played home games with family and friends. So I pushed on towards the tables and eventually lost my first signup money with bonuses. FFS, zero on the balance. I stopped playing for 2 weeks. Afterwards it felt like a pretty useless effort in general.
Two months had gone by and met my dear old "10K" buddy again. He had pissed his bankroll away. Two thirds had gone down the tubes yet the little fckr was still smiling. He claimed to have some kind of special deal with poker room he played at and that he had around 2k coming back from online poker rakeback ?
Same night I was sitting at my computer. I looked up the whole works about rake, rakeback, affiliates etc. So what if the poker rooms cream 5% of the top of MY POT? I need to brush up my game, obtain some additional programs and play a lot of hands suitable for my roll and top it all off with weekend tournaments.
Pretty soon I had set up an account with a rake back company and started playing on a heavy duty site suitably named Full Tilt with vengeance. Having lost the “fish/rookie stack” got me studying the games I played, people I grinded against and made sure I managed my bankroll with the help of my brand new Full Tilt Poker rakeback deal. A couple of thousand hands later my bankroll was looking all rosy; 15 ROI% with a couple of hundred USD coming back on my rakeback calculator from my unwillingly contributed rake.
Editors Note : This story is from an online associate of mine about how he benefited from rakeback poker.
