Online Poker Networks
I want to just jaw a bit today about online poker networks . I started to do a piece about Kentucky seizing domain names of gambling sites, but I think I'll try and clear the air a bit on the whys of Gaming Networks.
The reason for this post is because of something that happened over at another forum I had joined, not to play in their freerolls, but we were supposedly going to hook up for the October Charity Tournament. That did not work out though due to a lack of communication it seems . This forum decided to quit hosting freerolls and league play at Carbon Poker, it being on a network as one of the reasons. And I quote, "......... I found out earlier today is when players are signing up for any of carbon pokers tournaments, players from wasspoker.com, pdcpoker.com"formerly poker.com", reeferpoker.com and a few others all are playing in the same exact tournament. Basically while your playing in carbon's tournament your playing with players from all of those sites. "
Folk, if you have played online poker, or any of the casino rooms for any length of time most of you will know about networks. But for those that do not know, networks are a good thing for the players as they combine a player base to help the smaller rooms out. Each poker room , or skin as they are known in the industry, is still their own businesses. An example is Doyles Room is on the same network as Poker Host . They pay a fee for the software from the network, share tournaments that are scheduled and have their very own tournaments as well as different bonus offers. Doyle has all kinds of offers that the other rooms on the network does not have.
Another example is two of the rooms/skins that I promote here . PDC Poker is where I play most weekends at , the software is just awesome and the staff and support are always available. The site is just great for the small to mid size player that does not have the big bankroll. They have some nice bonus offers for depostors and always have something going on for those that may need to reload. It all works out very well for the player as myself that might not play as often as others, and they give comps to some very nice tournaments like the daily 1k freerolls and a monthly 50k one. Then there's Carbon Poker ...same network, but here at HouseOfPokerBlues.com this room gives you rakeback. This works out well for the Grinder at the felt. The player that spends a lot of time at the ring games spends a lot on the house rake which really adds up in time. But with Carbon you'll get 30% of that rake paid back daily. That's almost like free money !
Another concern that I've seen is multiple accounts at networks. This should not be anything for the player to be worried about. Although you can have player accounts at different rooms on the same network in most cases ( remember, they are actually different businesses ), you can NOT play more than one room at a time on the same network. If you are playing Walker Poker , you will not be able to open Poker Nordica, so don't go worrying about the multiple account issue...there is not one to worry about.
Just remember folk, most rooms could never make it without being in a network. There just would not be a large enough player base to even get stated......................
