Recap of National Poker Week

I recieved a letter from the Poker Players Association today with a recap of the happenings for National Poker Week that had occured this past July. I felt I should post it here just for those readers that may be from other countries or those that are not members of the PPA, or even those that are and might not have recieved their letter by way of e-mail.

There was a lot that happened during this organized event, and hopefully Congress will be taking a further look at some of the bills that have been proposed and perhaps even repeal the UIGEA soon after they return from their recess.

Recap of National Poker Week:

  • more than 375,000 signed the poker petition for President Obama
  • more than 225,000 letters were sent to Capitol Hill
  • more than 1,000 calls to Congressional offices
  • more than 100 meetings with members of the U.S. House and Senate

For those that are not members of the PPA and reside in the U.S., I still encourage you to join the fight for our poker rights now.
